DAX set to open lower this morning as Europe plays catch-up

The US equity futures are in the green this morning, as just noted when looking at the Dow Jones. Nevertheless, the outlook for the European markets is not so positive just now. That is because the major indexes all enjoyed a positive day ahead of the lower US closes. The DAX did end the session yesterday just above 15,350, closing at 15,352, with a gain of 122 points. The CAC 40 was the best performer, closing 1.13% higher. The FTSE 100 gained 0.73%. The impact of higher US yields has pushed the dollar higher and that has weighed on the opening outlook for the DAX this morning and helped to send futures prices lower as that opening looms shortly. There is a clear element the European markets playing catch-up with their US cousins here today. So, it will be interesting to see, if the index can rebound or not, when live trading resumes. That is certainly possible of course. The DAX is just now priced to reopen at around 15,275
