DAX set to open lower again in a minute

In just a few minutes from now the European stock markets will reopen for the final live trading session of the week and it is going to be another very nervous and unpredictable start to the day. As noted here a short while ago, the CAC 40 was the worst performing major European index, but that is not to dismiss the heavy losses seen in the DAX. The slide in the US markets following the tariff measures released on Wednesday evening has really caught many wholesale players off side in terms of their rotation trades into the European markets in general and the DAX in particular. So, the DAX hit a new interim low yesterday, at 21,670. The index later closed 673 points lower, at 21,717. If we take the 2025 and record high at 23,476 and then subtract a 10% corrective level, it arrives at 21,128 and of course we have not got that low yet, but increasingly that looks like a possible short term target, given the losses and in some cases, the more than 10% corrections elsewhere across the wider markets right now. The DAX is likely to open lower in a minute and the outlook is very uncertain for all the reasons you know. The DAX is currently priced to reopen around 21,600
