DAX set to open broadly unchanged this morning

On Friday, as noted here, the DAX stalled above 17k once more, but not before it has just managed to grind out a new all time high, at 17,004. The index later closed at 16,918, with a gain of 59 points on the day. Prior to that close, an update here had begged the question; as to whether it might now set in place a serious double top at just above 17k. Well, that is still an open question this morning and one that is yet to be answered. That said, the index future has not exactly made any conclusive moves, one way or the other yet this morning. It is currently priced to reopen not far removed from where it closed on Friday. Perhaps as the week unfolds we shall see, if there is any directional change that might make reaching a conclusion on that a little easier to decipher.
