DAX set for a lower opening today

Yesterday all the major European stock market indexes closed in the red. The DAX was the worst performer in that respect, but all of the losses were modest. The DAX closed 0.27% lower, compared to a 0.17% fall for the CAC 40 and just 0.06% for the FTSE 100. The DAX handed back 48 points, to close at 18,088. Earlier in the day the index had peaked at 18,226. The low on the session was set at 18,060 and right now the index is set to open this morning below that low point. The main driver for that is losses in the Nasdaq 100 and the tech sector after the closing bell last night, So, at one point the DAX was priced to open this morning at below 18k. The higher Euro versus the dollar is something of a drag on the index too. That said the latest earnings reports from across Europe are in play today as well. The DAX is currently priced to reopen at around 18,050
