DAX set for a lower opening today with more swings set to come

The DAX was the standout overachiever when it came to the major European stock markets yesterday. The DAX piled on 1.70%, rising 376 points by the close, ending the day at 22,539. That close was in sharp contrast to the earlier session low at 22,297. At the same time that close also masked the swings that came before it. There will be more of those again today for sure. The index is set to open lower though and that opening has been priced as low as 22,400. The real question now; can it rebound again and push above the highs seen yesterday (22,573)? Well, given just how volatile it is right now we cannot rule that out. The thing is, many participants have moved to the sidelines now and that means big players can much more easily bully this around, due to the lack of liquidity. So, perhaps anything goes today? We shall seen when live trading resumes shortly. The DAX is right now priced to reopen around 22,430
