DAX set to challenge record highs shortly?

As the European stock market opening looms in literally a couple of minutes, all the major index futures are pushing to session highs, as the dollar falls back again. The DAX was the best performing index yesterday, when it closed only slightly lower, at 18,711. Of course since then the DAX futures have been all over the place, following the moves across the US markets last night and beyond. However, right now the index is poised to open markedly higher in a minute. The current record high for the index stands at 18,990 set September 3. The index is priced to open closer to 18,900 this morning and in real terms potentially not far below that previous record high. So, it remains to be seen, if the DAX can threaten that level again today, but it looks like it will be within striking distance at the very least. The index is just now priced to reopen around 18,875
