DAX at risk of opening below 20k this morning
The slide in US stocks last night had a dramatic effect on the European futures, as noted here a little earlier this morning. So, as already mentioned, the DAX was the slight outlier amongst the major European indexes in that is failed to close higher yesterday. That said, it only handed back 3.80 points, ending the session at 20,242. Well, ahead of the US close last night the DAX futures did price the opening for today at close to 19,900. The outlook is a little brighter just now, but the risks of the index reopening below 20k this morning are still live and right now that is the case. It might change over the next 45 minutes, but then again it might not. The DAX is currently priced to reopen around 19,995
