Yesterday the DAX was the standout major European stock market index once again. The DAX set a new all time high at 20,373 and later closed not much below that new record, ending the session at 20,358. Of course that was a new record daily close too. The 0.63% rise in the DAX on the day compared to a 0.37% gain for the CAC 40 and just 0.16% for the FTSE 100. The lower closes on Wall Street last night do not yet appear to have dented the opening outlook for the DAX this morning. Shortly we shall find out if that is the case. The fact that the index is into uncharted territory and clearly even more overvalued that it was yesterday may eventually tell at some point soon, but there was no indication of that yesterday. Perhaps it will today? The DAX is just now priced to reopen around 20,355
