DAX reclaims the upper hand with a new record at 21,921

If you asked me on Monday morning, as the DAX futures were pricing a potential reopening below 21k, would we see a new record above 21,800 ahead of the weekend, the answer would have been, no. Well, that was clearly the wrong answer, because the DAX did break records again yesterday and the move above 21,800 did extend, as thought likely in updates, as the index just nosed above that level. The DAX eventually set a new all time high, at 21,921 and later posted a record daily close, at, 21,902. There can be little doubt; the more encouraging data out of Germany yesterday morning played a major role in helping to deliver that record close. The question now; is where to from here? Well, what has been conveyed to you in the past, is the technical picture, which suggests a move to around 26k is technically possible over time. Of course that is miles away and the more important big number on the radar today is surely 22k.  So, let us put 26k on the back-burner for the time being. The DAX futures are not much adrift from the closing price and right now pricing the opening around 21,915
