Yesterday there were records set for the DAX and the CAC 40 indexes. The DAX touched 18k and the CAC lifted to a new all time high at 8,156 and set a new record close too (8,137). In terms of percentage gains on the day, the CAC was the best performer. As covered here ahead of that close, the DAX seemed to continually run into sellers ahead of 18k later in the day and that ensured the index was unable to post a higher daily close above that level. The DAX reached a record high at 18,001 earlier in the day and later closed just 3 points lower, at 17,961. The DAX futures are not much removed from that closing level just now and it remains to be seen if this 18k milestone will remain a hurdle, when live trading resumes in around 40 minutes
