The DAX did reopen modestly higher a little earlier this morning and it is building on that positive start in the first 30 minutes of live trading. The index reopened today at 16,657, after closing yesterday at 16,650. It has just this minute lifted above 16,700 and the gains come as the FTSE 100 and CAC 40 also make some modest progress. The index might be waiting for some news on German government funding, but it is unclear whether that when that might emerge and if it will have an impact on the index or not. The first resistance level to note, if the current upswing persists could be previous closing level, but one which it rejected yesterday, at 16,751. The DAX is currently trading at 16,710
