DAX looks set for a slightly lower opening this morning
The European stock markets are set to kick off the new week shortly and the current outlook is for a slightly lower opening today. On Friday the DAX was by some margin the best performing major European stock market index. The DAX gained 0.98% on Friday, compared to a rise of 0.41% for the CAC 40 and 0.39% for the FTSE 100. The DAX lifted to reach a high at 18,722 on Friday and later closed, 181 points higher, at 18,699. Right now it is priced to reopen at closer to 18,650. At this point the reader is reminded of the record set at the start of this month, at 18,990.
