DAX lifts on the opening
The European stock markets have just reopened and it has been a rather mixed start to the new week. The CAC 40 is not higher in early trading, but the FTSE 100 and the DAX have lifted on the opening. The DAX is outperforming in early trading and just now pushed above 22,575. The index closed on Friday at 22,513. There is a general lack of any fresh dynamic news right now and of course the US markets will be close later on for the Presidents Day holidays. The early moves in the DAX this side of the records seen last week are not conclusive at this stage and it should not be taken for granted; that these opening gains will define the price action until the close later this afternoon. The DAX is right now at 22,570
