DAX lifts off earlier session lows

Earlier this morning the DAX effectively opened slightly higher although the official opening was set ever so slightly lower, at 18,131.35. The index had closed yesterday at 18,131.97. The high set shortly after the opening was at 18,148.01. Since then it has long since fallen back and subsequently dropped to a session low at 18,055. However, in more recent trading it is trying to rebound just now, but it is yet to recover any levels above the 18,100 handle. For the past couple of days the index has been holding its ground above 18k, since busting below that level last week. The fact that as of yet. the index has not set a daily close below 18k is something that has helped to steady the downside so far this week. That is not to rule out such in the days ahead though and right now the downside is still in focus, notwithstanding this latest corrective phase currently playing out. The DAX is currently trading at 18,095
