DAX lifts above 18,500 on the opening
The European stock markets have just reopened and rather unsurprisingly it has been a higher opening across the board. Right now the best performing major index on the resumption of live trading is the DAX. The German benchmark has reopened above 18,500. The DAX had closed yesterday at 18,450. The move higher comes amid further gains for the CAC 40 and positive ticks across the US futures. The weaker dollar has helped the stock markets generally and the DAX in particular, but it remains to be seen how this index will trade as the morning unfolds. The DAX is just now trading at 18,510
