DAX kicks off above 20k with a volatile start to the day

The DAX has opened higher today and of course that was always likely to be the case. As noted here earlier, the DAX closed yesterday at 19,789 and it officially reopened today at 20,039, but it fell back immediately after peaking at 20,046. The price action is rapid, but so far nothing like what we saw yesterday. The index has fallen back below 19,900 since the opening, but it is trying to rebound again just now. The overall picture is certainly more stable this morning, but as to how far that leads the DAX higher remains to be seen and once again it will be important to keep a very close eye on the news as it breaks.
