DAX hits a new record and backs off
An earlier update here noted the potential for the DAX to set a new all time high today. Well, since that update and the index reopening at 21,718 earlier, it has now risen to set a new record high above 21,800. The new record high seen a short while ago was set at 21,807. However, it has not yet accelerated above that. In fact, it has backed off a bit, but certainly not conclusively so at this stage. To be honest the index has done really well to get back up here, given all that befell it at the start of the week, when it crumbled to 21,252. Of course at one stage the DAX futures were much lower than that, but that was the low on Monday in live trading. The DAX is right now at 21,755
