DAX gives up opening gains in early trade

As expected the DAX did open higher this morning, resuming live trading at 19,411, up from the close yesterday at 19,362. However, that opening was the top of the shop so far and since opening  it has fallen back and dropped towards 19,300. The low seen so far has been set at 19,318. The fall comes as all the European stock markets continue to underperform the gains seen across the Pond in the US. Well, quite often we see how one size fits all when it comes to global equity market direction. However, since the outcome of the US election this week, you can see how right now that simply does not apply and rightly so, given the current backdrop. The DAX is just now trading at 19,334
