DAX gives back early gains

The DAX opened higher this morning, resuming live trade, effectively above 17,800 and then rose to a session high at 17,839. However, since then it has been tracking lower again and just now it dipped below the point at which it closed last night, at 17,770. The reason for the relapse is not entirely clear, but disappointment over some earnings results would seem to be one excuse. Beyond that the recent trend to sell rallies right now would be an immediate observation too. The move lower in the DAX also comes as the US futures start to hand back some of their earlier gains as well. The DAX is currently trading at 17,780
