The DAX was the best major European stock market index yesterday, ahead of the CAC 40 in percentage and points terms on the day. The DAX closed 171 points higher (+0.94%), at 18,407. The record gains in the US last night for the S+P 500 and the Nasdaq 100 have ensured the DAX is set to open higher shortly this morning. The current indication is around 18,475. In terms of index centric fresh news right now, there is not much to report here yet. There will be swings again today and the price action will probably not be straight forward, as has been the case for a while now and later on the US stock market reaction to the US CPI data will be integral to whether or not we see another higher close for the DAX later on
