It was not a great day for the European stock markets yesterday. All the major indexes closed lower and the leader in that respect was the CAC 40, with a 1.58% decline on the day. The DAX came close behind, losing 1.38% on the session. The FTSE 100 was the best of the three, with a 0.51% loss. The DAX closed at 16,538, with a loss of 230 points, but at one stage the index fell to a low at 16,479. However, the index futures are pointing to a slightly higher opening this morning, but at this stage the rebound is not by any means conclusive to very much. The dollar is losing some more ground just now though and that is probably going to help the opening outlook in around 40 minutes, if it continues when live trading resumes. The DAX is currently priced to reopen at around 16,565
