DAX extends gains to set a new record close
As suspected yesterday the DAX did not look back once it lifted above its previous all time high at 18,567. The index almost touched 18,700, peaking at 18,699, before later closing 188 points higher, at 18,686. Of course that was a record close for the DAX too. The later gains in the US stock markets into the close pushed the DAX futures higher yesterday evening and earlier today they were pricing the opening for this morning as high as 18,750. The current indication is below that level just now, but still above the close last night. The DAX is currently priced to reopen around 18,735
