DAX edging lower into the weekly close

As noted here earlier this afternoon, the DAX came to within an inch to setting a new all time high. However, as already covered the index could not quite get above 18,039 (Record high set yesterday) and peaked at 18,038. The index is now tracking lower and has been since the US opening really. It remains to be seen where the index will end the week, above or below the close seen yesterday at 17,942. So, with around 15 minutes to go before the index closes for the week, that could help to endorse the technically negative close set yesterday, or slightly detract from it.
