DAX edges back from new record high at 18,987 but it may not be done with yet

News today that the huge German automaker, VW is set to close some factory operations does not appear to have negatively impacted the DAX. The index opened higher this morning, at 18,979 and in fact, that was a record opening level for the index. The high seen so far has been set at 18,987, so as you can see, it has come close to that noted 19k handle already today. The rejection of that level at the first attempt saw it then slip back close to 18,950, but it is lifting again right now and despite all that this analyst might think about that there are reasons for why the index is rising the way it is and that will be explained in a dedicated update later this morning.
