Close but no joy on 16k so far for the DAX

Earlier today the question was begged here, as to whether or not the DAX might reach 16k ahead of the weekend. Well, so far it came close earlier on, but for the past few hours it has been tracking lower, from an earlier session high at 15,989. Prior to that the index had reopened at 15,940 from a close last night at 15,805. It is now back below that opening level and has recently threatened to fall below 15,900. That is not particularly positive, but there is still time for another push on the topside, if the US markets allow it, when they reopen in a few minutes. We shall see if that plays out as the afternoon unfolds. The DAX is just now trading at 15,905
