Chaos and division sends US stocks lower- Dow Jones leads

Yesterday it was a close call as to which US stock market would perform the worst. In the event it was a pretty even match, but one where the Dow Jones led the way lower, with a 2.48% fall by the close. The Nasdaq 100 closed 2.46% lower and the S+P 500 handed back 2.36%. Hence, not a great start to the week for anything really. The US President again issued a call for the Fed to cut rates and also took another swipe at the chairman. That really rattled the markets, as did many other reports of total policy chaos on the part of the US administration. So, anyway the Dow Jones fell to 37,830 at one point, which was loss of more than 1300 points below where it had closed on Thursday, at 39,142. In the event the index closed 971 points lower, at 38,170. Overnight the Dow futures have rebounded a little, but the gains ahead of the European opening are modest by comparison to the fall seen yesterday. The Dow Jones is currently priced to reopen around 38,280
