Canadian jobs beat eclipsed by US report- USD/CAD lifts

The December Canadian jobs report has also just been released. Canadian payrolls have risen by 90,900. The underlying rate of unemployment has fallen to 6.7% from 6.8% where it was expected to rise to 6.9%. Ahead of this the USD/CAD was trading around 1.4410. The reaction to the data has not seen the USD/CAD fall and that is because this great jobs report has been overshadowed by the US jobs report. The USD/CAD has therefore spiked close to 1.4440 following this data. It is right now at 1.4428
