Can the DAX reclaim 16k today?
Yesterday the major European stock markets were unable to set any dynamically higher closes. The FTSE 100 failed to replicate a previous daily close above 7,500, when ending the session 7 points lower, at 7,496. It was a similar story for the DAX, as that closed 17 points lower, at 15,901. Both indexes matched strides in percentage terms, with a 0.11% fall on the day. The CAC 40 managed to close in the green though, but only by a miserly 13 points. The gains stateside last night have so far not impressed the DAX futures much either this morning. That said the current indication there is for a very slightly higher opening and once again the burning question remains for the German benchmark- can it reclaim that 16k handle today, or perhaps by the time the US players prepare to stuff their Thanks Giving Turkeys? All to be revealed as they say in the trade, but right now this market looks like one that is more focused on US gains than it is for anything here in Europe.
