Can the CAC 40 get into the record books ahead of the weekend?

With so much focus on the DAX in the markets, it is easy to overlook the rebound in the CAC 40 over the past couple of weeks. Whilst there is no doubt the DAX has helped the CAC to recover and rise above 8k once more, the real driver has been a stabilising of the political situation in France. The CAC 40 hit a record last year and in fact, almost a year ago now, when it reached 8,259.19. The index gained 1.52% yesterday when it closed 121 points higher, at 8,164. The high seen prior to the close was set at 8,176. So, as you can see, it is not far away from that 2024 and record high now. The CAC 40 futures are fractionally lower this morning though, held back by the similar downside in the DAX futures. So, can the CAC get its name in the record books again? Well, it sure looks possible right now. The index is currently priced to reopen around 8,153
