Earlier today oil prices lifted and that saw the price of Brent crude for January delivery rise close to the $74 per barrel handle. The high seen was set at $73.93. It then dropped back to a low at $73.35, but it is on the rebound again just now. Brent had settled just $0.1 cent higher on the NYMEX exchange last night, at $73.31. The push higher so far today has taken it above the 50 day moving average, which is still rising and in place right now at $73.80. In terms of technical levels higher up, there really is not much this side of $75 to speak of. There is a previous high at $74.13 set on November 11 which is the nearest level of any note beyond $74 itself. That is not to say it will get there though. Brent for January delivery is currently trading at $73.84
