CAC 40 waiting and hoping for a cross party deal

Yesterday the French President Macron urged the opposing newly elected parties in the French parliament to forge an alliance and form a government. That prospect whilst remaining in doubt is not yet dead, but all the while it remains where it is the CAC 40 is under the spotlight. The French stock market index did rebound yesterday and it was not the best performing major European index on the day. The CAC closed 64 points higher, at 7,573. That compared to gains of 0.94% for the DAX.-more on that one nearer the opening. The CAC 40 futures are a little higher this morning, currently indicating a reopening at around 7,585, but what happens politically next in France is likely to determine its ultimate fate
