The CAC 40 has clearly been lagging the record run seen over the past few days in the DAX. The CAC 40 has so far not threatened the record it set last May, at 8,259. The index reached 8,214 on Friday and since then it has not been able to top that high. The index closed yesterday at 8,189.13. It did open higher earlier this morning, at 8,205.94, but almost immediately fell back from a session high at 8,206.64. Naturally, we might blame the relapse in the DAX since the opening this morning, but more pertinently what drove the DAX to fresh records yesterday and earlier today is not a dynamic stared by the CAC- defence stocks. So, the French index has now fallen back towards 8,150, as it continues to reject a new record high so far this year. The CAC 40 is currently trading at 8,164
