CAC 40 in the spotlight again as the Far right take to the streets

As you know, the CAC 40 led the losses here in Europe last week, as polls in France continued to show a dramatic shift to the far right and Le Pen. According to reports today, as many as 650k people attended a far right rally on the streets of Paris over the weekend and that is something not to be ignored. On Friday the CAC 40 crumbled again, falling by 2.66%.The index fell by more than 6% on the week and the loss of 204 points on Friday led all the downside seen across the European markets and by some margin too. The DAX fell 1.44% and the FTSE handed back just 0.21%. It was noted here earlier in the day; that the FTSE 100 was the outlier in that respect and had been attracting some haven flows, but that did not stop it from closing lower though. The CAC 40 hit a session low on Friday at 7,464, but managed to pare that into the close, when ending the session at 7,503. Today the CAC futures are just now pricing a higher opening, but it remains to be seen, even if that is the case, if it can hold any of the gains as the day unfolds. The CAC 40 is just now priced to reopen around 7,535
