CAC 40 set to open higher but can it extend?

On Friday the CAC 40 closed 52 points lower, at 7,534. The session low was set 7,513. The index was not the worst performing major European index, as that mantle belonged to the DAX (-1%). The CAC 40 handed back 0.69%. The index is set to reopen very shortly and right now that is going to deliver a higher start for the new week. However, it remains to be seen, if that higher opening will extend, or even persist as the session unfolds. The reasons that have led the index lower since the outcome of the French election have not gone away and that remains a significantly headwind, until something changes in that regard. The CAC is currently priced to reopen at around 7,580
