Yesterday the CAC 40 was the worst performing major European stock market index and right now this morning, as live trading resumes, it is lagging again. The index closed 1.03% lower yesterday, at 7,530 and that was pretty much on the lows of the day (7,526). The most recent low, at 7,464 is clearly not far away again now. The index has just reopened and despite gains in the FTSE 100 and DAX on the opening, the CAC is not yet making any headway. In fact, it is falling right now below the low seen yesterday and that is all due to the looming first round of the French election on Sunday. Given the risks of that, it is understandable the CAC is under pressure leading into the month-end and the risks of a deeper fall, perhaps taking out the previous interim low, at 7,464 should not be ignored. The CAC 40 is currently trading at 7,522
