CAC 40 not buying into Wall Street gains

Yesterday the European stock markets were spared a deeper than looked liked series of falls into the close by the surge in the Dow Jones. That lifted both the DAX and the FTSE 100 from their worst levels, but it did not help the CAC 40 that much. Consequently the CAC was the worst performing major European index again yesterday. The index lost 0.69% on the session, compared to a loss of 0.39% for the DAX and 0.22% for the FTSE 100. So, despite the surge stateside last night the CAC 40 futures are pointing to a slightly lower opening this morning and all the reasons for that are as they were yesterday and clearly have not yet changed. The CAC 40 is currently priced to reopen at around 7,570
