CAC 40 has 8k in sight now this morning
The CAC 40 was the best performing major European stock market index yesterday, when it closed at 7,892. It reopened markedly higher this morning, at 7,958.92 and it was helped higher by gains in the luxury sector, seemingly feeding off the better numbers released from the UK fashion outfit, Burberry. The higher opening in the DAX again today has also helped the CAC 40 to push towards 8k this morning and that is a level the index has not seen since June last year. The index is right now within striking distance of that, but of course this is a big psychological level and may yet prove hard to crack. The CAC 40 is right now at 7,974
