CAC 40 futures undermined by falling French consumer confidence
A short while ago the latest gauge of French consumer confidence was released and it was not good. The French consumer index fell to 90, from a revised prior reading of 93. The markets were expecting a reading of 93. This news has dented the opening outlook for the CAC 40. That index future was getting a modest lift from the DAX futures a little earlier, but it certainly was not making much progress. This data has ensured it certainly is not now. The index will reopen in a couple of minutes and it is set to resume live trade at around 7,165. The index had closed yesterday at 7,194, with loss of 62.96 points on the day
