CAC 40 futures under pressure with Le Pen in the spotlight today

The CAC 40 narrowly avoided being the worst performing major European index by the close on Friday. The index closed 0.93% lower, compared to the 0.96% in the DAX. The CAC 40 once again closed the session below 8k. Ut has closed on Thursday at 7,990. The low seen on Friday was set at 7,894 and the index ended the week, 74 points lower, at 7,916. The opening call for this morning is of course even lower than that right now. The news surrounding Marine Le Pen is also something to consider today, as she faces a court judgement which could wreck her political career, if she is found guilty of embezzlement. The outcome and potential impact of that on the CAC 40 is important and once known it will be conveyed here. If she is found guilty she would be banned for 5 years and that would exclude her from the 2027 Presidential election.  Right now the focus is on the broader risk-off dynamic, but this is very much potentially on the radar later today. The CAC 40 is priced to shortly reopen around 7,835
