CAC 40 futures edge lower so far this morning

On Friday the rebound in the CAC 40 reached a high at 7,738. The noted fall that that followed towards the close saw the index drop to a session low at 7,643. It later closed at 7,675, with a loss of 20 points on the day. That price action ahead of the weekend and the final French election vote was all due to trepidation over the outcome. Well, as you know now, the National Rally have not won that election. However, the lack of clear winner in the election is not exactly ideal for French stock market investors. That explains the lack of traction so far ahead of the opening today. So, it will be interesting to see how the market evolves, when live trading resumes later this morning. It looks to be in the balance right now and the early moves today could give an indication; if the CAC 40 can brush- off the prospect of political paralysis, or not. The index is currently prices to reopen at around 7,655
