As with the DAX, the French stock market did not enjoy a great end to the month yesterday. The index fell to a low at 7,315, before later closing at 7,350, with a loss of 77 points on the session. In pure percentage terms the CAC was the weakest of the major European indexes yesterday, handing back 1.05% on the final day of the month. That compared to a 0.93% loss for the DAX and 0.61% for the FTSE 100. Looking at the daily chart on the CAC, the low seen yesterday exactly matched a low set on September 6 and that means a break of this level could extend. The CAC 40 is just now priced to reopen around, or just below where it closed last night and so not exactly eyeing any kind of immediate rebound when the index reopens shortly
