CAC 40 edges back from session highs

As covered here much earlier this morning, the CAC 40 was the best performing major European stock market index, when it gained 0.79% yesterday. The index closed at 7,333. It reopened higher today, at 7,356, buoyed by gains later in the US last night and a push higher in the DAX futures this morning (incidentally the DAX has now backed off from a session high at 18,009 and back towards 17,950, as profit-taking does seem to kick in above 18k as suggested) . The CAC 40 haas reached a session so far today at 7,361, but it is backing away from that high now. The song remains the same on this one and it is still underperforming significantly the wider market in percentage terms since the outcome of the French election. The CAC 40 is currently trading at 7,342
