CAC 40 and FTSE 100 lead European gains into the close

The European stock markets have now closed for the week and the earlier gains across all the major indexes have been sustained into the close. The CAC 40 and FTSE 100 pretty much matched percentage gains on the day, rising by 1.22% and 1.21% respectively. The DAX trailed in third place, with a gain on the day of 0.65%. The gains in the Dow Jones just noted in the previous update have helped to lift all three futures prices now. So, the positive turnaround keeps running and at this stage it looks like the European markets are set for a higher opening on Monday. However, there is still time for the US markets to turn back down, but right now there is little sign of that.
