Brent on the slide so far today as stocks slip

The push higher in oil prices yesterday afternoon eventually delivered a move to above $76 per barrel in December Brent crude. The high seen was set around $76.30 just as the European markets drew to a close. The fall back into the NYMEX settlement did not detract from a higher close there though. Brent later settled $1.75 higher, at $76.04. However, the usual combination of lower equity markets and a firmer dollar today has pushed prices lower again and Brent has fallen back to a low at $74.43, set a short while ago. Brent is currently trading at $74.65
