The noted rebound in oil prices this morning has now extended. Brent has just now lifted above $76 per barrel and that is music to the ears of the FTSE 100 it seems, as the index now lifts above 7,500. The DAX is a bit higher as well, but surely for entirely different reasons. as Germany has no oil. The rise in Brent is now some way above the $73.60 lows seen yesterday. Brent for February delivery just now reached $76.10, but it is a little below that right now. The further recovery in Brent is also adding a slight tinge of downside pressure on the USD/CAD, as that slips back towards session lows. Brent for February delivery is currently trading at $75.97
