Brent extends gains to $73.50 as European stocks rise

The rebound seen in oil prices yesterday saw price of Brent crude for May delivery rise again and this time it managed to push above $73 per barrel. It later closed on the NYMEX exchange at exactly that same level, with a gain of $0.84 on the day. Earlier today it slipped towards $72.75, but since around 6am GMT this morning it has been on the rebound and that rebound has delivered a fresh interim high not long ago. Brent has lifted just above $73.50 and the move has come as the whole risk vista continues to show improvement again, now that the European stock markets have lifted markedly from their earlier session lows.
