Brent Crude rises to session highs on Bessent comments

The comments from the US Treasury secretary, Scott Bessent noted in the last two updates, also centred on Iran and its oil exports. Bessent has said the US want to cut the ability of Iran to export its oil production and limit it to 100k BPD (Barrels Per Day). This news has lifted oil prices across the board. Brent for April delivery had already risen yesterday, from a low at $74.06, to above $75.25. It had still settled slightly lower on the NYMEX exchange, down just $0.16, at $75.02. Earlier today Brent was slipping back from an earlier high at $75.56, to just touch $75.00. This news has pushed it immediately back up again. Brent for April delivery is now trading at fresh session highs, at $75.65
