Brent crude makes a move above $74 per barrel today

Yesterday the price of January Brent crude could not in the event make a move above $74 per barrel. It came close, but the lack of traction saw it fall back below $73 after the European close, basing out around $72.70 before later settling $0.50 lower on the NYMEX exchange, at $72.81. Well, earlier today Brent did rebound and this time it jumped above $74 and that break on the charts helped to deliver a high a little earlier at $74.37. It has just backed away from that high now, but overall the price action remains positive for the time being. Brent for January delivery is currently just holding above $74, trading right now at $74.03
