Brent crude edging lower this morning

Yesterday oil prices extended a rebound into the afternoon and that saw the price of July Brent rise to around $83.80, from earlier season lows close to $82.25. The move above $83 was covered in an update here before it reached that session high. It did drop back below $83, before rebounding into the NYMEX settlement, where it later fixed $0.57 higher, at $83.36. It has not strayed too far from that price point so far today, but it has backed off from an earlier high above $83.60. The oil markets will be keeping a close eye on developments in the Middle East and Gaza this morning, but so far that has not delivered any notable upside for Brent. In fact, it is close to session lows just now currently trading at $83.30
