Bitcoin jumps above 100k on Trump SEC pick
Bitcoin has finally made a move above 100k. Late yesterday evening it had been flirting with the previous high, at 99,728 after earlier falling back below 95k. The driver behind this historic move has been the Trump pick for the new chairman of the US SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission). Trump has gone for a Crypto advocate, replacing the prior incumbent, Gary Gensler. Gensler was a known Crypto critic and wherever possible sought to legislate against it. Paul Atkins is to be the new boss of the SEC and he is very much a Crypto advocate and it was that news which propelled BTC to above 100k today. It has reached a record high so far at 103,800. BTC is off that high right now and that looks likely to be some players banking gains, but that does not mean this move has yet run its course, now that it has finally reached this milestone. BTC is right now at 101,955
